The fishing tools

The trip plan, catch log and checklists save in your browser on this device. They are not sent to the project. Clearing browser data may remove your notes. Export the catch log to keep a separate copy. Avoid private locations or personal information in free-text notes.

Hosting and measurement

Catch photos are resized into JPEG copies in your browser, without copying the original file metadata. They are not uploaded or analyzed. JSON backups contain your notes and those photo copies; protect them like your originals. Notes do not automatically sync between devices, browsers or site addresses.

Optional trip forecasts

Weather loads only when you request it. The lake forecast uses a broad regional point. If you choose approximate location, your browser asks for permission, then coordinates are rounded to a tenth of a degree before being sent to the National Weather Service. Precise coordinates are not stored in the log. NWS receives the rounded point and normal request information, including your IP address. Moon estimates are calculated in your browser. Forecasts and air temperatures are labeled separately from your observations and measured water temperatures.

Site providers

The main site uses Vercel; this private review may be hosted by Sites. Hosting and sign-in providers process requests under their own policies. No advertising pixels or analytics provider are configured in this build. Interaction events are local browser events only.

When forms open

The existing form architecture can save email, optional name/phone/message, selected interests, source page, consent wording and timestamp to the project’s Supabase database. Newsletter consent and replies to an inquiry are separate purposes. Email delivery, unsubscribe handling, retention and the contact destination must be verified before capture opens.

Family and community

Private family footage, children and community-service recipients do not appear in this preview. The project does not sell contact information or pass it to sponsors.

Review status

This is a draft policy for the actual preview behavior. The live policy needs review against the enabled providers and retention process before public release. Preview feedback can be given directly to Ryan.
